身体项目
The 身体项目 is a unique body-acceptance program designed to help young women resist cultural pressures to conform to the appearance ideal standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of this unrealistic idea.
Peer Facilitator Opportunities
Trained peer leaders facilitate conversations related to personal experiences with body image, discuss how culture and society impact the way you feel about your own body, and challenge “fat talk” while learning how to respond. The 身体项目 is not a support group for those with disordered eating concerns, but rather a space to learn about positive body image and to feel empowered and confident in your own skin!
The 身体项目 is supported by more research than any other body image program and has been found to reduce:
- Appearance ideal internalization
- Body dissatisfaction
- Negative mood
- Unhealthy dieting
- Eating disorder symptoms
